Winery Tour

The unique year-round climate of desert heat during the day and the low temperatures of northern Arizona at night make Sedona a great environment for wine making. Blaze a trail this fall that includes many of the more than 20 wineries that have decided to call the Sedona area home. The Valley Verde Wine Trail guides you to many of the area’s wineries for a delectable tasting tour you’ll never forget. If you like what you taste, take some back to your rental to enjoy with the Thanksgiving feast. Take the special tour or load up your GPS with the details and make your own path. However you tour, safe transportation is a must so make sure you have a designated driver before heading out.

Red Rock Scenic Byway

Pack up the rental car and head out on an adventure. SR-179, better known as The Red Rock Scenic Byway, is a short trip that can last all day. The byway itself only measures ten miles in length, but you can while away the day at the many scenic pull-off points along the route. Marvel at the towering red rocks and breathtaking view of Arizona’s Red Rock Country. Don’t forget to stop by the Coconino National Forest visitor’s center for maps of local hiking and biking trails if you need a little exercise after the Thanksgiving meal.

Verde Canyon Railroad

Take a scenic tour of the area during your Thanksgiving break and leave the driving to someone else. Everyone can enjoy the sights and beautiful scenery of Sedona’s Red Rock Country on the Verde Canyon Railroad. The railroad runs year-round and is a fun way to sightsee areas you won’t be able to reach in your rental vehicle. You can choose to take in everything during the 40-mile four-hour tour from your ticketed seat, or head to an open-air viewing platform car for a better view of the red rocks and pine forest. Come back for special holiday trains like the “Chocolate Lovers’ Special” for Valentine’s Day, or themed rides for St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, Christmas, and other holidays.
