HomeAbout SedonaJourneys to SedonaJourney to Enjoy Sightseeing in Sedona AZ This Year

Life consists of a series of journeys, some of which take you on a sightseeing journey to beautiful places filled with magic and excitement. Today, we at I Love Sedona want to take you on a three-day journey of our hometown, showing you how to enjoy a getaway that is unlike any other. And because that journey for sightseeing in Sedona AZ begins and ends in our Sedona sanctuaries, your adventures will be comfortable, exciting, and filled with luxury and style; the planning starts now!

Day 1’s Morning Adventures: Wake Up to Sunshine and Red Rocks

On this first day in Sedona, you will probably be too excited to linger too long in the comfort of your vacation escape, so why not start with a breakfast from a restaurant that is conveniently located in one of the most popular shopping villages in town. The Secret Garden Café in Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village is famous for its innovative breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, and for offering a pet-friendly patio, convenient for travelers staying in our pet friendly abodes.

After a delicious breakfast, it is time to unveil the treasures Tlaquepaque offers, dipping in and out of the stores and galleries, stopping in CREAM for a frosty cone, or enjoying a sweet chocolate treat from our personal favorite snack store, How Sweet It Is. This walled village of stores, shops, restaurants has been a much loved tradition for visitors and residents since forward thinking Abe Miller, a Nevada businessman, made his dreams of a living arts community come true back in the 1970s and may become one of your greatest memories. Finishing the morning with a lunch at El Rincon Mexican Restaurante will serve as your authentic introduction to the foods of the Southwest.

Day 1 Continued: Time to Explore

Dropping your purchases back at the rental, it is now time to take an up close and personal peek into the red rocks that have given this town its magic. There are plenty of touring companies that offer rides into the red rocks, so pick a color, pick a style, and remember to make online reservations, because the tours book fast! Pink Jeep® Tours is perhaps the most well-known, but we have tried them all and know that any will give you the ride of your life, taking visitors to vortexes and the iconic red rock formations that you will be unable to avoid taking pictures of by the hundreds. Most Sedona sightseeing tours last about two to three hours, and by the time your ride is over, you will probably be ready to head back home to explore all the comfortable amenities our properties offer, picking up a pizza from Sedona Pizza and Pasta Company to enjoy on the back patio as the sun sets over the countryside.

Day 2: Get Back to Nature

There’s a lot to do during your sightseeing in Sedona AZ getaway, but if you are able and don’t take at least one day to hike the trails that traverse the countryside, you will be doing yourself a great disservice. The weather is beautiful through most of the year, although it may get a little too warm for an all-day hike in the summer, and the scenery is unlike anything you will see anywhere else on earth. Places like Wildland Trekking offer a variety of hiking and backpacking treks through Sedona, taking visitors into the wild and sharing their love of the town with the tales they tell and the genuine enjoyment they find in our breathtaking countryside. Start your day off with a hearty breakfast from the Coffee Pot, located at 2050 W State Route 89A and offering 101 omelets, and spend your day exploring magical spots with names like Vultee Arch, Lost Wilson, and the Devil’s Bridge. They provide lunch on most of their Sedona sightseeing tours, so all you will have to worry about is dinner, which if you have any energy left, should be a carb laden Italian meal at the Hideaway House, offering patio views of the very trails you may have been exploring earlier in the day!

Day 3: Well, That Went Fast!

It’s always surprising how quickly a truly excellent vacation goes by, and your Sedona one will be of no exception. This last day, you might want to rise early to enjoy the beauty of a red rock sunrise, perhaps dining on coffee and toast prepared in your own kitchen. This is the perfect day to get more souvenir shopping out of the way, with visits to the shops of Uptown Sedona. For a serene adventure, we suggest a visit to the Chapel of the Holy Cross, a church that is perched on the cliffs of Sedona and one that brings peace to all who step inside. On your last day in Sedona, a meal at Tii Gavo, 525 Boynton Canyon Road, where authentic Mexican food will make the perfect farewell stop.
